Florence, five artists at the Piagge: from June 17 on display in the “ship” of humanity

by time news

Five Florentine artists and their works animate one of the public houses of the Piagge in Florence from Thursday 17 June for a month until 18 July. “The Raft of Géricault” is the title of the painting exhibition organized inside one of the “ships”, a popular building with a characteristic shape in via della Sala 2h on the western outskirts of the city. This place thus evokes the tragedy of humanity on a journey, outlined by the French painter Géricault thanks to the interpretation of Emiliano Anselmo (43 years old), Giambaccio (52), Andrea Ornani (39), Sebastiano Benegiamo (39), Debora Piccinini (32) who thus want to launch Le Piagge as one of the places of contemporary art in the city. The intent of the exhibition is therefore to launch the Piagge and the ship in via della Sala 2h which already houses a self-managed library in a new place dedicated to art. Each of the artists therefore occupies the space of one floor. Emiliano Anselmo, on the fifth, invites us to listen better to faces that are told at different decibels. Picturesque and bizarre, the world of Giambaccio in the fourth. A colorful movement dominates in the works of Andrea Ornani on the third, and finely tingles the skin of Sebastiano Benegiamo’s landscapes on the second. Finally, on the first floor, Debora Piccinini welcomes the visitor in a profound abandonment, an out of the sea. The exhibition will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 4 to 6 pm by appointment (due to Covid restrictions) info (3802361028 – 3703368265).
