Florida Lottery Players Eye $1.1 Billion Powerball Jackpot After Saturday’s Drawings

A massive Powerball jackpot, now soaring to $1.1 billion, is fueling lottery fever across Florida, following Saturday’s drawings which saw one $1 million winner and a $59,439 Fantasy 5 jackpot claimed. While the grand prize went unclaimed, the latest results are generating significant excitement as players prepare for Monday’s drawing.

The winning Powerball numbers for Saturday were 1, 28, 31, 57, and 58, with a Powerball of 16. No ticket matched all six numbers, driving the jackpot to its current astronomical value. However, a Quick Pick ticket purchased at a Publix located at 525 S. Belcher Rd. in Clearwater, Florida, matched the five base numbers, securing a $1 million prize for one lucky player. This marks the fourth time a Florida ticket has won a $1 million prize since the last Powerball jackpot was hit.

Fantasy 5 Winner Claims Midday Prize

Earlier on Saturday, a player in Tallahassee struck gold with the Fantasy 5 midday jackpot. The winning numbers – 11, 17, 29, 30, and 36 – were selected by a player at the Chevron gas station located at 6653 Thomasville Rd. The jackpot totaled $59,439.

Claiming Your Winnings

Winners of both the Powerball and Fantasy 5 prizes are advised to claim their tickets at the Florida Lottery main office in Tallahassee or at one of the nine district offices located throughout the state. The Lottery confirms that appointments are available but are not required for claiming prizes.

The Florida Lottery has been a source of excitement and opportunity for residents since 1989. As reported by Miami Herald staff writer David J. Neal, the Lottery’s impact extends beyond just the games themselves, encompassing a wide range of coverage from sports to breaking news.
