Logicor develops a project turnkey from more than 16,000 square meters for Fluidra in the regions of Girona. The group specialized in the construction of swimming pools is reactivating projects and boosting its stock market after suffering a bad year in the markets: it reached a price of 37 euros in 2021 and now it is around 17 euros. Fluidra’s logistics operator, Trace Logistics, will occupy the new ship a Sant Feliu de Buixalleu, a location it considers strategic due to its proximity to the border and its customers from southern Europe.
Logicor reports that the logistics plant will have a total of 20 loading and unloading docks in the municipality of Sant Feliu de Buixalleu, in the Selva. In the same region, Fluidra already has logistics facilities in Maçanet and Santa Coloma de Farners.
The new center it will allow Fluidra to centralize the stock and improve the service delivery of its products in several of its main European markets: Spain, Portugal, France and Italy. Logicor has contracted the construction work to CBC, which is also acting as the general contractor.
The new promotion joins the more than 2.5 million square meters in assets under management that Logicor has in the Iberian Peninsula and allows the company to increase its presence in Catalonia, a market in which it recently acquired a logistics plot of 88,000 square meters in the municipality of Abrera, about 25 kilometers from Barcelona and very close to the main networks of highways that connect Madrid and France. The battle for enclaves close to Barcelona continues in the logistics sector, although some analysts and sector signatures have predicted that the boom in the sector may be reaching a new stage of stabilization.
The most Girona-based company in the ibex
Fluidra, which is listed on the Íbex, has an important presence in Girona, where employs around 500 workers. The group’s main base of operations in the province is located in Sant Jaume de Llierca. Sacopa, Poltank and Prelast are based there. The first of them has facilities of around 30,000 square meters and is dedicated to the injection of thermoplastics and manufactures products for swimming pools. It also has a medical division. In the same municipality we find Poltank (designs and manufactures pressure vessels in polyester reinforced with glass fiber) and Prelast (manufactures custom rubber and silicone parts for any industrial use that requires tightness or demanding mechanical characteristics). In Sant Julià de Ramis we find Industrias Mecanicas Lago, a subsidiary specializing in the manufacture of pumps for swimming pools. Finally, Trace Logistics, the logistics subsidiary of the group, has warehouses in Maçanet, Santa Coloma de Farners and soon in Sant Feliu de Buialleu.
