Fly Gabon: Official launch on August 31, 2024 with new prices

DIG/ After several delays, the national airline, FlyGabon, will begin officially its operations with a first commercial flight scheduled for August 31, 2024.

By eventually serving all provinces of Gabon and introducing an attractive fare range, FlyGabon is part of the government’s strategy to revitalize the Gabonese air transport sector, as well as strengthen connectivity across the country.

To achieve these objectives, the national carrier is offering a new attractive fare range, particularly targeting families, students and seniors.

Families: 10% discount on round trips for families of at least 5 people including 2 adults and 3 children, with an additional 20% discount for children.

Students and high school students: 15% discount on round-trip tickets.

Seniors: 20% discount on round-trip tickets.

Promotional one-way introductory prices are also offered for domestic connections to Port-Gentil (70,800 FCFA including tax), Oyem (79,800 FCFA including tax) and Franceville (97,800 FCFA including tax).

“After the disappearance of Air Gabon a few years ago, the creation of FlyGabon is a real source of pride for our nation.

This launch marks a significant renewal in the Gabonese air sector and offers an opportunity to revive and boost air transport.

With FlyGabon, we will serve the 9 provinces of the country, as soon as the airport infrastructures are modernized and up to the standard of commercial transport and thus participate significantly in the efforts to open up while having a pricing policy contributing to the fight against the high cost of living”said Nyl Moret-Mba, General Manager of Fly Gabon.

While FlyGabon will initially focus on the domestic market, The national flag will extend beyond Gabonese borders with the aim of launching a connection to Johannesburg, South Africa, by Airbus A320, by the end of 2024.

To ensure quality service, FlyGabon will put into service two ATR 72-600s with a capacity of 72 seats. The second of these two aircraft will be integrated into the fleet by the end of September.
