Fly to Turkey: required tests and references for tourists named

by time news

Since June 22, Russia will resume flights with Turkey, and since June 28, with a number of countries. Not only will the geography of flights expand, but also their frequency. However, as we have already seen, a country’s readiness to receive Russian planes does not always mean its readiness to receive Russians as tourists. And not everywhere where we will be able to fly without a change from the second month of summer, there are anti-wing measures acceptable for a vacationer.

With the help of experts, we find out the conditions of entry into the newly available countries.

Recall that Russians today can only get to most of the EU countries for urgent needs – work, treatment, education, caring for relatives, etc. But ATOR sent a letter to the Operations Headquarters with a request to open air traffic on mass tourist destinations that are ready to receive us exactly as tourists – Cyprus, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Turkey, the resorts of Greece and Croatia (flights from the Russian Federation were only to the capitals). Let’s see which of our dreams came true.

Turkey: references, tests, checks

First of all, of course, Turkey – from Tuesday June 22 to Istanbul, Antalya, Bodrum, and Dalaman will fly not only regular flights, but also charters, and not only from the capital, but also from the regions. As tourists, the Turks can’t wait for Russians, we don’t need a visa, but there are some intricacies of entry that need not be known.

No PCR test is required from Russians vaccinated with the domestic vaccine; a certificate of full vaccination with two doses is sufficient. Important: both doses of vaccinations must be done at least two weeks before the trip, the certificate must be translated into English and contain the data of the passport.

All unvaccinated and non-COVID-19 tourists over 6 years old are required to provide a certificate of a negative PCR test, made no earlier than 72 hours before arrival in Turkey. The help must have a QR code. Important: without this certificate, you will not be put on a plane even in Russia!

Tourists who have been ill with covid can replace the PCR test with a certificate from a medical institution about the past disease or the results of an express test for antigens. Antigens are not antibodies, but an analogue of a PCR test, but it has a shorter “shelf life” – it must be done no earlier than 48 hours before arrival in Turkey.

As for the certificate for those who have been ill, its form and content have not yet been clearly explained by the Turkish authorities, so it is better not to risk it. On arrival in Turkish cities, passengers can be selectively subjected to PCR tests – this is the agreed right of the host side, which should not be resisted.

Bulgaria: different visas will do

Regular flights from Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Minvod, Samara and Rostov-on-Don will go to the Bulgarian Sofia, Varna and Burgas from June 28. For us as tourists, the country is open, for entry we need tests or a certificate of vaccination. A visa is suitable for both Schengen and Bulgarian, and national visas of Romania, Croatia and Cyprus (but not the so-called “pro-visa” – an electronic visa obtained in advance). The Bulgarian side informs about its readiness to accept also certificates of the transferred covid in English, but so far our tour operators do not have the practice of entering on such certificates, they do not advise taking risks.

Cyprus: the rules are a little softer

Cyprus – from June 28, we will regularly fly to Larnaca and Paphos from Moscow and all airports of the Russian Federation intended for international flights. For Russians, a Cyprus visa is issued online. Unvaccinated Russians will have to undergo two PCR tests: 72 hours before departure (its result must be uploaded to a special platform, the second on arrival in Cyprus at their own expense. English and with passport data.

Important: unlike Turkey and Bulgaria, Cyprus does not have a requirement that at least 14 days have elapsed since the second dose of the vaccine is administered.

Greece: more planes

From June 28, it will finally be possible to get from Russia by direct flight not only to Athens, but also to Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Rhodes, Corfu, Araxos, Zakynthos. And not only from Moscow, but also from Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Samara, Kazan and Minvod. To enter, Russians need either a negative test or a vaccination certificate.

Serbia is ready to accept Russian tourists on approximately the same conditions (2 flights a week will also fly to Belgrade from Rostov-on-Don and Krasnodar), Croatia (in addition to Zagreb, from June 28, Russians will be able to fly direct flights from Moscow to Split twice a week. , Dubrovnik and Pula) and North Macedonia (from June 28, once a week flight Moscow – Skopje).

Some tour operators consider the flights from Moscow to Amman and Aqaba, permitted from 28.06, twice a week, to “come true dreams of a vacationer. Jordan is really ready to accept Russian tourists on the basis of tests or certificates of vaccination and visas issued upon arrival for 70 USD. Another thing is that not everyone knows how to rest there.

From June 28, flights from Moscow to Washington and New York will also officially resume (they were also earlier, but in the form of cargo-passenger flights). Formally, the United States accepts citizens of the Russian Federation, including for tourist purposes, but in fact, it is almost impossible to obtain a visa now. So only those Russians who have a valid American visa will be able to spend their holidays in Miami.

Where not to rest

This is where the vacationer’s dreams come to an end: other countries, air traffic with which resumes or becomes denser from June 28, Russians will be allowed only on urgent matters or as transit passengers, but not on vacation: these are Belgium, Ireland, Italy, Austria, Finland and Qatar.

Alas, outside the Russian list of “renewed air relations” there are again countries whose resorts have long been ready to receive a Russian vacationer – Tunisia, Tanzania and Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh (flights from Russia only to Cairo). The issue with them has long been promised to be reconsidered “in the near future.” It is curious that, in the meantime, the EU Commission until the very end of the summer banned the sale of tour packages to Turkey, Mexico, the Maldives and Miami, considering them epidemiologically dangerous for the health of their citizens. Apparently, our understanding of covid security is completely different from that of Europe.
