Kochi: The ‘Batista’, an all-electric hypercar manufactured by the Italian vehicle design firm Automobili Pininfarina, owned by the Indian automobile company Mahindra & Mahindra, has won the title of the fastest car in the world.
Batista has the distinction of being the fastest street-legal car. This feat was done at the Autodrome show in Dubai.
Battista accelerates from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 1.79 seconds. The legend is the 1.86 seconds set by Rimac Nevera last year. Battista also set a new record for 0-120 (192 km) in 4.49 seconds. Automobili Pininfarina’s all-electric Battista hypercar also holds the title of the fastest 60 mph to zero stop car. The record was achieved by stopping the vehicle from 60 mph in just 120 feet.
Battista has a battery with a capacity of 120 kWh and 6,960 lithium-ion cells. Battista was first introduced by Pininfarina in 2018. The company aims to sell just 150 units of the Batista. The ex-showroom price will be 22.5 lakh dollars; 18.32 crores approximately.
