Focus in Youssoufia on improving the quality of services provided to people with disabilities

During this meeting held in the presence of the governor of the province of Youssoufia, Mohamed Salem Essabti, the emphasis was placed, through a series of presentations, on the assessment of the achievements of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), in particular, in terms of supporting people with disabilities.

Placed under the theme “Assessment of the balance sheet and prospecting of horizons”, this meeting which takes place on the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and devotes the policy of communication and proximity advocated by the CPDH with regard to the various partners, actors and people targeted by the various programs of the INDH, was also the occasion to pay particular attention to the balance sheet of the many services provided by the National Aid in this area.

In a speech for the occasion, Mr. Essabti highlighted the multiple efforts deployed in the province of Youssoufia during the 3rd phase of the INDH and which focused on the expansion of the targeting map of people with disabilities, the construction and equipment of new Centers, while guaranteeing better human supervision, within the framework of the partnership with the National Aid.

The governor also emphasized the efforts to expand the map of resource classes in partnership with the national education sector, noting that this meeting offers an opportunity to debate and exchange views in order to assess the results of the work accomplished and to engage in mutual reflection on the nature of projects likely to be included in future action plans. The aim is to improve the quality of services provided to people with disabilities in the province of Youssoufia, he concluded.

For his part, the representative of the National Aid in Youssoufia reviewed the government policy relating to the support of this category.

During this meeting, a presentation was also made highlighting the importance of including children with disabilities in resource rooms in public schools, and another presentation on the assessment of the territorial diagnosis of people with disabilities, carried out by the National Association of Ambassadors of Special Education, in partnership with local authorities.

The work of this communication meeting was sanctioned by a set of recommendations which will be the subject of analysis and discussion by the members of the CPDH as well as the local human development committees with a view to implementing action plans likely to meet the aspirations linked to the improvement and promotion of the quality of services provided to people with disabilities.

The meeting was attended by, among others, members of the CPDH and the Local Human Development Committees, civil society actors working in the field of supporting people with specific needs, as well as representatives of the relevant government departments.
