This coming Wednesday, a “focused summary” will open at Beit Ariela in Tel Aviv – an exhibition of the best cartoons and comics for 2021. Among the participants: the chairman of the Israeli Association of Cartoonists and Comics, Uri Fink, as well as many illustrators including Amos Biderman, Ilana Zafran, Zeev Engelmeier and more.
The exhibition provides an in-depth look at the state of cartoon art in the age of social networks, the diversity of opinions, and the audiences that have characterized the field in Israel in recent years.
The composition of the participants this year is more diverse than ever, with the proportion of women being the highest recorded and the proportion of illustrators identified with the right. A cartoonist from the ultra-Orthodox sector also participates in the exhibition.
