Following the confrontation with the journalist: Nir Berkovich will stand trial

by time news

The 2:0 loss against Maccabi Haifa was quite expected from Kiryat Shmona’s point of view. However, after the game, Nir Berkovic lost his temper at the press conference when he confronted the journalist Itzik Aharonovich and also cursed him. Today (Wednesday) the association’s prosecutor Nir Rashef decided to prosecute Berkovich following a charge of “inappropriate behavior”.

Berkovich may be suspended for a few games, but as I recall he was fired after the loss to Maccabi Haifa and is currently not coaching any team. Nir Rashef’s indictment states that: “Press conferences after football games, as a rule, are an integral part of the game itself, and the various officials in the team are obligated to participate in this media event. In his actions detailed above, the accused expressed himself in a severe and inappropriate manner towards a journalist at the event which is an integral part of the league game”.

As I recall, at the press conference after the loss, the coach was nervous and even said to Itzik Ahronovitz: “I’m not nervous about the trip, I’m nervous about the hat.”

“Get out of here, get out of here. You’re also dirtying Barak Becher. Barak Becher scored a draw and you’re making dirt on him, shame on you. What do you have to do with football?”, the fired coach continued to say to the commentator, who replied: “Shame on you, piece of zero Be yourself. Don’t come near here anymore, go home. I can be your father.”
