Following the increase in electricity prices: the National Insurance is transferring grants

by time news

Starting today, the National Insurance Institute will automatically transfer the advances of the heating grants for 2023, in the amount of NIS 200. As I recall, a few weeks ago a government decision was made regarding the transfer of advances from heating grants following the increase in electricity prices. The decision was recently passed by the Labor and Welfare Committee and these days the National Insurance Institute has started implementing it.

The heating allowances that are transferred to the beneficiaries on a regular basis in the month of October, are expected to be deposited in this month as well this year, with the reduction of the NIS 200 advance that will be deposited this week. The annual heating grants are about NIS 600 per family.

Among those entitled to the heating grants are Holocaust survivors, senior citizens who receive an income supplement allowance, recipients of a supplement to a disability benefit and recipients of income support.

The National Insurance Institute stated: “The National Insurance Act worked to implement the decision regarding the transfer of heating grant advances within a few days of the time it was passed in the Knesset. Starting today and during the coming week, the heating advance payments will be transferred to the bank accounts – and we hope that the amount will help, even a little, those who are entitled. The second pulse of the heating grants will be transferred in about 8 months, in preparation for next winter.”
