Thiruvananthapuram: The Speaker has demanded an explanation from the personal staff members of the seven opposition members in the incident where the footage of the conflict that occurred when the opposition members besieged the speaker’s chamber during the assembly session was captured and circulated.

The Speaker has sent a notice seeking an explanation for illegally recording and circulating footage in a high-security area where photography is prohibited. T. Siddique, K.K. Rama, M.K. Munir, A.P. Anilkumar, P.K. The notice is against the PAs of MLAs Basheer and Abid Hussain Thangal.

The notice states that within fifteen days of receiving the notice, an explanation should be given in writing to the Assembly Secretary, failing which disciplinary action will be taken as per rules.

After the end of the assembly session on March 15, the opposition members laid siege to the speaker’s chamber. The opposition has also alleged that no action has been taken against the personal staff members of the ruling party MLAs and ministers who recorded the scenes of the conflict.
