The bad news fell this Monday, October 16. Spanish police have confirmed the death of Álvaro Prieto, who has been missing for four days. The national television channel RTVE had previously broadcast live the inert body of the young footballer between two carriages of a train. The images were recorded by a journalist from the channel who was reporting on this worrying disappearance.

Born in 2005 (18 years old), Alvaro Prieto was one of the hopes of Cordoba CF, a Spanish 3rd division club which played in La Liga in 2014-2015. This young player played in the U19 category. Last Thursday, he did not return to Cordoba, in Andalusia (Spain), as had been agreed. According to the latest information, he sent a message to his mother telling her that he no longer had battery on his phone. This annoyance would have prevented him from showing his ticket (present on his phone) to the controller, who would have turned him away and invited him to get off. According to images from CCTV cameras, he tried to board another train without success before leaving the Seville station around 9:30 a.m.

Many Spanish clubs sent their condolences to the player’s family on social networks. The Cordoba club suspended its training this Monday. His supporters will meet this evening at 8 p.m. in the city center for a gathering in his memory.
