Al-Talaba Club Penalty Lifted by Iraqi Football Association
The management of Al-Talaba Club confirmed on Sunday that their penalty, which banned the club from signing players during the winter transfer window, has been lifted by an official letter from the Iraqi Football Association.
The penalty was imposed due to a complaint filed by players against previous administrations for unpaid dues.
The club’s secretary, Riyadh Mazhar, stated that they have not signed any new players as of yet.
Mazhar explained that the current management of Al-Talaba Club reached an agreement with the Iraqi Football Association to have the penalty lifted. This agreement stipulated that the club would not be able to sign players during the winter transfer period.
He further elaborated that the club’s management, in collaboration with the technical staff, will identify players who can contribute to the team in upcoming Iraqi Premier League competitions and will approach them during the transfer period.
Al-Talaba currently sits in ninth place after 12 rounds of the Iraqi Premier League with 17 points.
