The photos smack of a fashion shoot and the tunic is reminiscent of top-level football club jerseys. However, the Rocquancourt Football Club (Calvados) plays in the 4th district division, the lowest level of the Normandy football ladder. Logical for a newly created senior team. What is less so is a jersey and its presentation also worked at this level. “I have a social media structure,” explains Axel Chauvierre, club player and boss of the Doki Doki agency. I offered to design the logo and take care of the site and the networks. » Next step: the outfit.

“We approached an equipment supplier and we thought of a vintage model, with an embroidered badge and a sponsor that would not spoil the jersey,” continues Axel. On arrival, Rocquancourt puts on a white tunic, with red and gray touches and an elegant collar. To present it, the approach does not change. Théo Hamel, acquaintance of Axel, passionate about photography and head of the SM Caen networks, goes behind the lens: “We wanted to show that in amateur football, we can do things like the pros, without necessarily having the means. but with ideas. With Axel, we have the same references, like what the clubs of Venice or Bari have achieved.”

The shirtless wine merchant sponsor

The author of the photos of the new Stade Malherbe Caen jersey takes part in the game. A first round of shots in various places in Caen (at an antique store, in a thrift store among others) then another at the club’s sponsor, the wine merchant Les serve chai, in Caen. Jean-Charles Halley is the manager. Customary of original communication in his activity, he embraces the FC Rocquancourt project. “I didn’t just want to give money, but to create history with the club in the village where I come from, where my mother still lives. When I saw the club flag at the shoot, I suggested posing naked wrapped in it. I thought about the offbeat side, to have fun. » So here is the boss draped in the club’s colors, shirtless, waving the jersey in front of the bottles in his stall. A nice way to “establish the sympathy capital” of the trade, assures Jean-Charles.

The bet suddenly found an echo on the web. Specialized accounts on X (formerly Twitter) relay the initiative. The day after the publication, at the beginning of September, one of these shares had more than a million views. “It’s an avalanche,” laughs Axel Chauvierre. We found ourselves on So Foot, between Bayern Munich and Inter Milan! This was neither planned nor controlled! »Incongruous thing for a D4 structure: more than 100 jerseys were sold! Enough to consider investing in a mobile goal, useful for training and continuing to structure yourself. The player, manager of the communications agency, also notes the human fallout from this funny adventure: “It builds connections. The team savors the moment. Now, we want to give back what was given to us. » Axel, for example, gave a speech at the University to explain his project. Which could have consequences since the club is now working on its home jersey. Now it remains for the outfits to shine as much on the pitch.
