The final match of the nine-man round competition for the senior challenge trophy team of the member clubs of the Vavunia District Football Association was held today (4.09) at 5.30 pm at the Lions Stadium.
In the final, North end FC & Vanni kings FC clashed in a multi-test. Vanni kings FC team fought hard but could not win the match. North end FC won the match with a score of 7:1 at the end of the match and claimed the title of champion. Plaques were also presented to the winning teams and best sportsmen. It is noteworthy that the uniform was also introduced during this.
The final match was attended by A. Nagarajan, Vice-Treasurer of Sri Lanka Football and President of Vavuniya Football Federation, M. Soumian, Secretary of Vavuniya Football Federation, Vice President M. Pulendran and many other members and athletes of Football Federation.
