Paul Pogba, 30 years old, would have seen himself, according to the Italian daily “ Gazzetta dello Sport », refuse by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to be directly judged by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne. Positive for testosterone metabolites, a substance prohibited in football, the Turinese risks four years of suspension.

Pogba has been provisionally suspended since September 11, after his positive test on August 10. And the second opinion that he had requested confirmed on October 6, the presence of the illicit substance.

According to the Italian daily, Pogba, who wanted to be judged directly before the CAS, had his request rejected and will have to complete the procedure launched by the Italian anti-doping justice system.

Pogba could therefore, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, “be referred to the anti-doping prosecutor within ten days”. Before this court, if Pogba manages to convince of the unintentionality of his taking testosterone (he explains having taken a food supplement), he can negotiate an agreement and see his suspension reduced to just two years. Pogba will then have twenty days to try to negotiate this agreement.

If this is not the case, he can wait for the verdict of the anti-doping tribunal, the hearing of which will be scheduled within forty days from the finding that an agreement has not been reached. And after this verdict, Pogba could, if necessary, turn to the CAS.

Because even a two-year suspension would probably mean the end of his career for Pogba.

In the meantime, the daily specifies that Pogba trains alone with a personal trainer using the gym, the swimming pool and the large spaces of his villa in the hills of Turin where Cristiano Ronaldo previously resided.
