Football is a tough business these days. But small events show time and again that it can be different.
The team of the Swedish amateur club Kalmar AIK FK has caused a stir with an action. Players and coaches have shaved their heads. The reason: Team mate Marcus Heman suffers from cancer. He lost all his hair due to chemotherapy. Out of solidarity, the team decided to do the same.
In a video released by the club, the players can be seen grabbing their hair clippers and welcoming Heman into the dressing room. When he enters the room, sees all the hair on the floor and then looks at his players, the cancer-stricken footballer bursts into tears. Deeply touched, he hugs his teammates.
Midfielder Olle Björkegren then shows that he has even gone one step further. He had the letters “MHFC” tattooed on his left arm. The meaning: Marcus Heman Fuck Cancer. The support in the fight against cancer touches Heman very much. “Are you serious?” asks the astonished cancer patient and hugs Björkegren.
