Football: what if Pelé became an adjective?

by time news

” Skin. [Adjectif] 1. greatest of all. 2. size reference 3. unequaled. 4. synonymous with excellence 5. unique. This is the proposal for a definition just made by the Pelé Foundation, which is launching an unprecedented campaign to include the word Pelé in the Portuguese dictionary.

In order for the word Pelé to be inscribed for eternity, the Pelé Foundation has just submitted this idea this Thursday and has already received the support of the historic club of King Pelé, Santos, and of Globo, the important and influential media group in Brazil.

“Everyone knows and reveres the greatest Brazilian of all time. Now is the time to honor Pelé by immortalizing the King with a dictionary word – sign and be part of this movement,” the Foundation explained on its social media, which has just launched an online petition (pelenodicionario.com .br) to give even more weight to this approach.

Edson Arantes do Nascimento, known worldwide as Pelé, will remain as the only player to date to have won three World Cups (1958, 1962, 1970). Suffering from colon cancer, Pelé died on December 29, 2022 at the age of 82. His death sparked a worldwide wave of emotion.
