A statue of Cristiano Ronaldo has been erected in Panaji, the capital of Goa.
Goa Ports Minister Michael Lobo said the statue, which weighs about 410 kg, was erected to encourage the younger generation to play football and take football to the next level in the state and the country.

He added, “This statue, which was constructed at a cost of about 12 lakh rupees, has been manufactured for the last three years. The installation of the statue was delayed due to fear of corona infection.
This is the first time a statue of Cristiano Ronaldo has been erected in India. This will help motivate our youth and take football to the next level. This is what young men and women expect. Taking a selfie while standing in front of the statue will make them more interested in the game. ” Said Minister Michael Lobo.
