It’s an event that has become unmissable: the Fête de la Musique returns on Wednesday June 21 for a 41st edition, allowing, as every year, to honor thousands of artists, most often amateurs. For the occasion, The world asked several of these musicians and singers who do not live from their art what this event means to them.
Grégory Blachier, 42, is one of those amateur artists who will perform on Wednesday evening. He will play in front of the doorstep of a bar in the 14th arrondissement of the capital, with his group of rock covers from the 1990s-2000s, the Five Drunk Daddies, for the second year in a row, alongside other artists. . The one who is a journalist in the city is “the singer and confetti thrower” of the group created in 2021, as he likes to say. He has participated in many Music Festivals since his adolescence, whether in his native Southeast or in Paris, with different groups born and defeated over the years.
Room for everyone, in a festive spirit
He accepts his paradoxes: “The Music Festival is a moment that I love when I play, but I hate when I’m not playing, it can be so noisy and sometimes end up going wrong. » What he likes most to find each time he plays it, “It’s a bit like a village festival, not a headache, where everyone is there to share a moment. We play in front of a more cheerful audience than usual, we share a beer, we laugh, we see people we may not see again, and that’s what’s great! »he summarizes.
An enthusiastic state of mind totally shared by Tiphaine Meunier. “What I like so much about this party is the spontaneity, the good atmosphere and the fact that everyone can get on stage”, underlines the 28-year-old artist, baptized “Daphne Brixton” on stage and who has been trying to seriously get into music for almost a year. The singer and folk pop musician, based in Paris, also remembers with joy the first and for the moment unique edition of the party during which she performed in front of an audience, the year of her 15th birthday. : “It was in a bar, in Paris. We had come to see a group play, and I had the chance to go on stage, at the musician’s invitation, to perform a few songs. For me it was magical! »
