The head coach of Novy Urengoy “Fakel” Mikhail Nikolaev decided to leave the post for family reasons. This was reported on February 28 in the Yamal volleyball club.
“Mikhail Igorevich has been working at Fakel since 2018. Under his leadership, the youth team became one of the leaders of the Russian championship and achieved the highest achievements. The volleyball club expresses its gratitude to the coach for the work done and thanks for the help in educating young players,” the message says.
Roman Yakovlev, head coach of the Novy Urengoy volleyball team, will perform the duties of Nikolaev. He will prepare Fakel for the next match, which will take place at the Yamal home court on March 4.
Recall that Mikhail Nikolaev took over as head coach in February last year. Then the Italian Camillo Plachi resigned his powers, who suffered a severe coronavirus and decided to return home to restore his health.
