It is planned that the crew will stay at their landing site for one to two days after their return, said the vice director of the Institute for Biomedical Problems in Moscow on Saturday, according to the Interfax news agency. There the space travelers should only find special equipment, “as if they were on another planet”.

Normally, specialists and doctors fly to the astronauts and cosmonauts as soon as they land in the steppe of Kazakhstan in Central Asia after their flight of several hours to Earth. There it is first checked whether the men and women have coped well with their stay in weightlessness – before they are flown back to their home countries.

Russia wants to send cosmonauts to the moon in the future. A point in time has not yet been set. Russia intends to build a space station on Earth’s satellite in stages by 2040.
