Arūnas, who lives in a village in Kazlų Rūda, faced such a situation. A man for the portal lrytas.lt told that it is not the first day that a disabled person with small children lives without electricity and without food.

On Sunday, July 28, a tree fell on the road in the village of Šiaudiniškės, cutting power lines and leaving residents without electricity. “We cannot remove the tree ourselves, because the wires are also lying on the road and it is dangerous,” Arūnas explained.

The next day, I received a message from ESO’s customer service team that the fault had been fixed, although it had not. The man even went to check – the tree and wires were lying motionless on the road. The ESO then re-registered the fault.

The family tried to call the firefighters as well, but they could not help without the help of ESO workers.

“Today is already 31.07.2024, we have neither food nor water, ESO does not pay attention to us at all – neither that we are disabled, nor that there are two small children. They just say they are sorry,” the man said on Wednesday.

Portal on Wednesday lrytas.lt contacted ESO representatives regarding this situation.

“In the village of Šiaudiniške, a fault was fixed in the 10 kV line and it was removed, and there was also a fault in the low voltage network (0.4 kV) and it was also fixed at 6 p.m. has been removed”, reported Justinas Petkus, head of ESO Public Relations projects.

The fact that the malfunction was fixed in the evening was later confirmed by reader Arūnas.

“6 p.m. according to data, the electricity supply in Lithuania is disrupted in about 36 thousand. users. Since yesterday (July 30), the supply has been renewed for more than 60 thousand. consumers, but the difficult situation remains in Vilnius, Šiauliai and Panevėžys regions. Almost 300 brigades work in them.

We understand the inconvenience experienced by our customers, that is why our electricians and engineers, as well as those of the contractors, are working on minimal rest mode, and the supply to the majority of users who currently do not have electricity will be restored within the next day”, assured the head of ESO’s Public Relations projects.

Due to the heavy workload, all employees of the company and contractors are in their places and are troubleshooting electrical power failures.

“All those who are on vacation, but have not left Lithuania, and those who are on vacation, also joined their colleagues on Monday morning, when the storm was raging across the country. Currently, ESO is cooperating with municipalities and municipalities, the State Border Guard Service has contacted colleagues in Latvia,” the representative explained.
