Historical summit: At the invitation of Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, on Sunday and Monday next week, a first-of-its-kind political summit will be held in Israel – in which 5 foreign ministers from the countries that have signed the “Abraham Agreements” will participate. As part of the summit, a round of joint policy meetings will be held.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the summit will be attended by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayd al-Nahian, Bahrain Foreign Minister Abdel a-Latif a-Ziani, and Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Burita.

Earlier this week, a tripartite summit was held in Sharm el-Sheikh, with the participation of Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and the heir apparent of Abu Dhabi Muhammad bin Zayed. The meeting took place against the background of the nuclear talks in Vienna, when Bennett presented Israel’s position on the nuclear agreement that is being formed with Iran.

At the end of the meeting, a spokesman for al-Sisi wrote: “The President met today in Sharm el-Sheikh with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and with the Prime Minister of Israel, Naftali Bennett. The presidential spokesman announced that the meeting discussed the implications Markets and food security. Opinions have also been exchanged regarding recent developments on a number of international and regional issues.

The Prime Minister’s Office added that “the leaders discussed the ties between the three countries against the background of recent developments in the world and the region, and on the ways to strengthen them on all levels.” At the end of the meeting, Bennett took off back to Israel, accompanied by al-Sisi to the airport.
