A new network of charging stations for electric vehicles will soon be established in Israel, based on solar energy instead of one from the regular electricity grid. The two companies behind the venture are Doral Energy, which specializes in solar technology, and EV Motors, an importer of electric vehicles and equipment for charging stations.

According to the companies’ announcement, they have signed an agreement to establish a joint venture to create a network of “green” car charging stations. They will invest equal amounts in the venture, but their holdings in the venture will be divided into 51% owned by Doral and 49% owned by EV.

There is currently no clear deadline for the opening of the first station, but the companies have stated that they intend to set up a national network, which will allow electric vehicle owners to travel from anywhere to anywhere in Israel without fear. They added that each station will have about 20 charging stations, alongside a “lounge” with seating and cafes for the benefit of drivers waiting to load their vehicles. The stands will suit both private and commercial vehicles.

Gil Timor, CEO of the joint corporation that has not yet been named, said that “the number of electric car owners in Israel is rising frequently, as is the need for available charging stations. The company will set up green charging stations across the country, which will for the first time allow the general public of drivers to charge their vehicles with clean electricity and significantly reduce air pollution caused by the use of fossil fuels. The joint corporation will offer the public added value in the availability of fast charging stations nationwide, and the preservation of the environment. ”

Yaki Neumann, CEO of Doral Energy, added that “entering the field of electric vehicles and charging electric vehicles is a natural and synergistic expansion of the company’s operations. We believe that we can provide an innovative product that offers consumers an electric charge based on renewable energy sources at a competitive price, while preserving the environment. “
