/ Manchester City won the FIFA Club World Cup title on Friday after a comfortable 4-0 victory over South American champions Fluminense.

The final match of the Club World Cup was held at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

City took the lead in the first minute with a goal scored by Argentine Joaquin Alvarez before the English club extended its lead with an own goal scored by Fluminense defender Nino in the 27th minute.

City completely dominated the match and scored two more goals through Phil Foden (72) and Julian Alvarez (88), to crown the European champion with its first title in the Club World Cup in its first participation ever.

City’s deadly Norwegian striker Erling Haaland was absent from the squad due to a foot injury, as was Belgian playmaker Kevin De Bruyne, despite being part of the team’s mission in Jeddah.

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola became the first coach to win the competition four times, after leading Barcelona to the title in 2009 and 2011 and Bayern Munich in 2013.

Real Madrid is the team that has won the title the most, having won it five times (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2022), followed by Barcelona three times, and Corinthians and Bayern Munich tied for two times.
