In contrast to the procedure that has taken place in the last two years, today Betar Jerusalem conducted its concluding training on Saturday. The group’s training took place this morning at Beit Vagan, for the first time since owner Moshe Hogg ruled that his team would never train on Saturday.
Betar admitted that this was an unusual act compared to what has been customary in recent years, but explained that there was no choice, due to the overcrowding of games and training in the day complex: ‘We could not train on Saturday night. “It was not a convenient solution for anyone, games are played for the youth due to cancellations at all hours of the day and there is no lighting on the lawn in the home and garden, so the training was held on Saturday.”
Uriel Degani returned to Vagan but did only run training. Joshua Mahias who landed in Israel is waiting for an answer from the corona test he underwent upon landing in the country, if he comes out negative he will be released from isolation.
Tomorrow, the team will leave for Kiryat Shmona this morning and will stay at a hotel in the north until the game at 20:00. For Betar, this is a very critical game in light of the negative momentum and weak ability shown by the players in recent games against Ashdod and Haifa and the fact that the team is unable to escape from the bottom.
