Russia-Ukraine War: President of Russia Vladimir Putin Today (Thursday) instructed the Russian Defense Minister to stop the fighting in Ukraine due to the Orthodox Christmas which falls this coming Saturday. According to Putin’s request, the ceasefire will last for 36 hours starting tomorrow at 12:00 noon, and until the evening of Saturday January 7th at 0:00 at night.

Zelensky’s presidential adviser responded that “Russia must leave the Ukrainian territory it is in, only then can there be a ‘temporary lull’ in the fighting.” In addition, he told Putin to “keep the hypocrisy to yourself.”

In the meantime, the Russian army has recently experienced severe discrimination, when at the beginning of the week it was reported that the commander of the Russian army in Ukraine, General Sergin Sorobykin, was replaced today by the army chiefs in Moscow for the fourth time since the beginning of the hostilities, after his predecessor had held the post for only three months.

Also, the Russian Ministry of Defense recently admitted that three Russian military personnel were killed as a result of being hit by the remains of a Ukrainian drone that was intercepted above the base in the west of the country, deep inside Russian territory.
