For the first time since the split: Keshet and Reshet collaborate again

by time news

Until 5 years ago, the “Rainbow” and “Reshet” franchises operated on the same broadcast channel, and shared the “News Company” edition with them every evening. Since the split of Channel 2, in October 2017, it seemed that the two bodies were establishing ties, so now they are back to cooperating.

The two largest television bodies in Israel, Keshet and Reshet, are teaming up this year for the first time to jointly hold the INTV 2023 television innovation conference, which is designed to promote the local content industry. The conference is expected to host many senior executives from the global television industry. The conference will be held in Jerusalem on June 5-6. The festive opening event will take place on 4.6.

This is the seventh time that the INTV conference will be held in Israel. The conference, produced until now by Keshet Group, has gained international recognition over the years thanks to senior participants from the international industry who took part in it.

Among the entities whose managers have participated in the conference in the past are Netflix, HBO, Showtime, Channel 4, ITV, FOX, CNN, NBC, CBS, AMC, MGM, Hulu, Warner Brothers and MTV, alongside creators and producers of huge series such as “The Crown”, “Homeland “, “Seinfeld”, “Heroes”, “Lost” and more.

Despite its success, in recent years the conference has not been held due to the Corona epidemic. Now in light of the tectonic changes that the content industry is going through in the whole world and in Israel in particular, along with the importance that Besket and Reshet see in promoting the Israeli content industry, it was decided to join hands and team up for a joint production of the conference.

As mentioned, during the days of the conference, senior officials from the global content industry are expected to arrive in Israel, and in addition to fascinating lectures, there will be unmediated meetings with people from the local industry. The purpose of the meetings is to expose the conference visitors to Israeli creation and Israeli creators.

Yoram Altman, CEO of Reshet: “Keshet and Reshet are the two television entities that hold a significant part of the investment in Israeli content, and both companies see support for local creation as an important value.”

Avi Nir, CEO of the Keshet Group: “The television industry in the world, and in Israel in particular, has faced dramatic changes in recent years that challenge the entire industry. Although the Israeli market is small, it consists of creative content people with flight and vision. Therefore, along with the risks that the changes bring with them, many opportunities for cooperation also open up.”
