For the first time a municipality We scream in partnership with the Bulgarian Association of Raspberry and Berry Growers (BAM-YA) organizes Strawberry Festival. It will be held on May 13 (Saturday) and dozens of producers of the aromatic fruit from the region will participate in it, announced the chairman of the association, Bozhidar Petkov.
Dozens of stands with fruit, planting material and everything related to strawberries will be located in the center of Krichim.
Uti Bachvarov will mix 130 kg of strawberries in a huge pan made from a locomotive, and at the end everyone will taste the result. President Rumen Radev and Vice President Iliana Yotova were invited to the strawberry festival, because it is said in the riddle: “Small, red, and the king is taken off the road.”

“It is now that the strawberries in the open produce the most abundantly, and therefore May is the most suitable month for the celebration. After that, we will also celebrate the other most delicious fruit – raspberries, traditionally in the city of Loznica,” said the chairman.
In the municipality of Krichim, strawberries occupy 1,050 acres and are grown by 85 producers, Bozhidar Petkov also reported.
He added that thanks to BAM-Ya’s 3-year efforts for strawberries and raspberries that are grown in greenhouses, farmers can receive tied support as greenhouse crops in the new program period. This gives greater opportunities, including for year-round cultivation of crops. The chairman specified that in order to produce several harvests, the fruits must be in heated greenhouses, grown using different technologies and be of remontant varieties.
