/ The British newspaper “The Telegraph” revealed, on Thursday, a heavy-caliber surprise, stating that the blue card could be used as a new law of football.

The British newspaper explained that the Football Association Board (IFAB) agreed to implement the blue card experiment in football matches, which is a card to expel the player from the field for only 10 minutes, in the event that he commits a tactical error or objects to the referee.

The newspaper added that if a player receives a blue card twice in a match, he will be expelled from the match, but if a player receives a blue card and a yellow card in a match, this officially means that he has received a red card.

The newspaper pointed out that this will be the first time that a card other than yellow and red has been used since the last amendment in 1970, which was used in the World Cup.

The technology will be excluded from top-level league competitions to see if the protocol needs further development, but elite trials could still begin as early as the summer.

She added that this technology could include the FA Cup and the FA Women’s Cup, as the Football Association is considering volunteering next season’s competitions for testing.

The newspaper concluded its report by saying: “This technology will not be used in the European Championship this summer or the Champions League next season, but the European Union may be forced to implement this technology if the experiments succeed, as expected, and add it to the laws of the game.”
