Discussions about whether Trump carried out a coup come in prime time.

The House Committee of Inquiry into the events of the takeover of the Capitol on January 6 will broadcast the discussions for the first time during prime time television. At the hearing, the commission is expected to argue that former President Donald Trump was at the center of a plan to carry out a coup after the 2020 election, and in fact remain in power despite losing.

The panel is expected to uncover new evidence that would allegedly link Trump’s lies about election fraud, his attempts to undo Biden’s victory and the violence that followed on January 6, 2021, when a violent mob stormed the Capitol building.

A hard blow to Trump: The commission demands data from his son

As you may recall, on January 6, 2021, after weeks in which then-President Trump pampered his supporters with false claims that he actually won the election, Trump delivered a speech in which he actually happened to the public march toward the Capitol, during the electors’ approval process by his vice president, Mike Pence. Which would have definitively fixed Biden’s victory.

Thousands of Trump supporters came to the scene, and with surprising ease managed to break in, rioted on the spot, broke and stole equipment, and even resulted in the deaths of 5 people.

Trump continues to claim his innocence and deny any connection to the events that happened. While in the Democratic Party (and even some in the Republican Party) he is accused of direct incitement that led to the events.

Despite everything that has happened, an attempt to oust him in his last days has not been successful, the question remains, whether the committee will succeed in prosecuting him.
