The ninth round of the National League continued tonight (Tuesday) when Elizur Ashkelon suffered its first loss when it surrendered unconditionally in Ein Sara. In a historic game, which was held at Gani Tikva, Elitzur Shomron and Maccabi Maale Adumim met, who won at the buzzer with a crazy 3-pointer by Ariel Deri. Maccabi Rishon Lezion had no difficulty defeating the Ordonim at Maccabi’s house, and so did Hapoel Afula against the Greens from Carmel. Maccabi Urban Ramat Gan suffered a home loss to AS Ramesh.
Ironi Nahariya – Elizur Ashkelon 64:95
After eight consecutive victories, Elitzur Ashkelon surrendered this evening in Ein Sara to Ironi Nahariya. Shay Seglovic’s team presented a great defensive game at the start of the game and at an early stage gained a double-digit lead, with Yogev Ohion steering the game and activating the rest of his teammates. Very quickly the local advantage reached a 20 point difference and the second half was already on the record.

Maccabi Ma’ale Adumim and Elizur Shomron met tonight for a historic battle between two teams representing the Judea and Samaria region. But beyond the history, we got a huge drama on the episode. Both teams provided a tremendous offensive game that ended with Ariel Deri’s winning three-pointer that excited the local crowd that came to Gani Tikva. Elitzur Shomron dominated most of the game, but Keith Stone picked up a fifth foul at the start of the last quarter and left his team at a disadvantage in the paint. Dror’s team is still without a home win, while Ma’ale Adumim continues to be at the top of the table.

After the loss in Ra’anana, Roi Perel’s team recovered with a convincing home victory over the Greens from Carmel. The Afula defense conceded 28 points in the first quarter, but in the next two quarters the home team conceded only 19 points and managed to keep the house. Ofer Rahimi’s team once again fails to create continuity, mainly because of the landing of the return balls.

Another victory for Maccabi Rishon LeZion which continues its journey. The Oranges started the game well, but in the second quarter the Ordons forced a balanced game. In the second half, the home team’s depth already did the job – Hapoel RG Givatayim had trouble producing points and very quickly the gap grew on the way to a local victory. Guy Palatin, former RG Givatayim, was great in defense and finished with 9 steals. The Jordanians are still winless since the second round.

A very important victory for Guy Cantor’s team in Darion Watkins’ debut game (16 points). The guests held a small advantage throughout most of the stages of the game and knew how to maintain it even in the decisive minutes. The winner scored 13 3-pointers at 41 percent, when Guy Farber and Yam Yonatan scored 3 3-pointers each. Maccabi Urban Ramat Gan with a second loss in a row drops to a negative balance and will have to find solutions for the rest.
