A little more than three years after the start of productive operations, the group of workers of the company Richmeat de Cuba SA, -the first user of foreign investment established in the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM)- ratifies its status as National Vanguard.
Accompanied by Abel Domínguez Marrero, founding member of the executive secretariat of the union section of the entity, Luis Alberto González Hernández and Alejandra Chapela Díaz, president and vice president of the company, respectively, received the banner that officially accredits the center as deserving of this status , granted by the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba, on this occasion, based on the results of 2022.
On behalf of the workers of the meat processing plant, Yipsian Román Rodríguez, the general secretary of the union section, thanked “the recognition of our commitment and sustained work to achieve high levels of productivity and efficiency; to the consecration to sustain productive work defying inclement weather, epidemiological crises and various logistical situations.
“Receiving this condition further commits us to the country’s food production program,” he insisted, and then called on the workers to participate this May 1st in the parade for World Proletariat Day.
Yanelis Ramírez Pérez, member of the secretariat of the National Union of Workers of the Food Industry and Fisheries, highlighted the dedication and commitment of this team, while stressing that, among the objectives of the center since its creation, the promotion of the chain with the industry stands out national to obtain the supply of raw materials, materials and inputs, as well as the diversification of productions.
“This factory is an evident manifestation of the recognition of the opportunities offered by the Cuban market, as well as the confidence in the country’s policy to favor the establishment of direct foreign investment and guarantee its protection,” said Ramírez Pérez.
Yosvany González Padrón, a member of the Municipal Bureau of the Party in Mariel, also participated in the ceremony, which took place on Tuesday morning; Agustín de la Peña Quijano, secretary of the special committee of the CTC in the Zone; Yanet Vázquez Valdés, deputy director of the ZEDM, among other guests and a representation of the workers of the modern facility.
