From a mere manufacturer service provider. The multinational Ford, through its Ford Pro commercial vehicle division, has presented a new line of business in Barcelona that involves offering its customers a comprehensive system‘ to improve the productivity and efficiency of small and medium-sized fleets. The term ‘pro’ no longer refers to the concept of ‘professional’ as well as to productivity.

“We have to focus so that our customers can concentrate on what they know how to do, on their business. Everything that concerns their vehicles is our responsibility, ”explains Jesús Alonso, president and CEO of Ford Iberia, in Barcelona during the official presentation of the program in conversation with ABC.

Ford Pro solutions combine ‘software’, charging solutions for electric vehiclesservice and financing, in what is intended to be a comprehensive platform for each client to operate their fleets as they adopt connected and electrified vehicles in their business.

In the case of the Ford Pro Telematics software program to optimize the management of your vehicles, the data that is collected is converted into useful information and alerts designed to simplify fleet management, including the location of vehicles in real time , the health alerts and monitoring of drivers to support compliance and training.

“We are entering the always-on digital age, and managing a fleet has never been more complex,” explained Ted Cannis, CEO of Ford Pro, during the presentation. “Ford Pro makes it easy for companies to boost your productivitywith an end-to-end solution from a brand they can trust.”

It is, as I insisted Jesus Alonso on ABC, in which the small entrepreneur, the self-employed, concentrates on what his business is, on increasing productivity. “Our clients don’t want to become experts. They want to have a solid and reliable partner from whom they can learn and avoid all the headaches”, added in this sense the general manager of Ford Pro Europe, Hans Schep, in the presentation in Barcelona,

The launch of Ford Pro coincides with the company’s new electric commercial vehicles, specifically the E-Transit, which offers a autonomy of about 317 kilometers, and is produced in Kocaeli (Turkey). The model already had more than 5,000 orders before the vehicles left the assembly line, including those that will be supplied to Alcampo in Spain.

In this sense, Ford will present its second fully electric commercial vehicle for its customers on the European continent on May 9. Besides, Ford Pro confirmed that the Transit range will include four new electric models: the new one-tonne Transit Custom van and Tourneo Custom in 2023, and the new generation smaller Transit Courier van and Tourneo Courier in 2024.
