Rosarito, Baja California.- Almost half of the properties listed in the cadastral register of Rosarito are debtors of Property Tax for this reason, it began with a campaign of embargoes that could end in an auction, to make their owners comply with their tax obligations.

The Treasurer of the city council, Manuel Zermeño Chávez, informed that there is a register of 103 thousand cadastral accounts, of whichs 55 thousand have not made the corresponding payment and many of them have never made this contribution, which is mandatory.

In this sense, he explained that it began with a campaign of notification and placement of canvases with the legend of precautionary seizure in at least 40 properties, most of them are vacant lands.

Zermeño Chávez, mentioned that in the history of Rosarito none of the required properties have reached the auctionbut they are already working with the legal team to get to this point, in case the owners do not heed the call and put their situation in order.

He added that the properties that are being notified are those that have debts of more than 5 years and most of them are vacant lots where it is difficult to notify their owners about the actions that are being implemented.

The official commented that there are facilities for debtors to get up to date and that things do not get worse, such as the auction of the property, so that the city council recovers what corresponds to it, since it is presumed that there is a deficit of 600 million pesos for failure to pay Property Tax.
