According to the ‘1330 Service Utilization Trend Analysis Report’ published on the 22nd by the Korea Tourism Organization and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism after analyzing 240,000 tourist inquiry data collected through the ‘1330 Tourism Interpretation Guide’, the most frequently mentioned keyword was ‘interpretation’ (3,583 times).

Interpreting ranked first in 2024, following 2023. It was followed by taxi (3,014 times), Seoul (1,579 times), hotel (1,149 times), and bus (1,023 times).

This analysis report aims to understand and respond to the interests and needs of domestic and foreign tourists, and analyzed approximately 240,000 tourist inquiry data using 1330 from January 2023 to May 2024.

In the transportation field, ‘bus’ was mentioned the most, and related words such as public transportation and T-money ranked high.

In particular, the proportion of inquiries about transportation to travel destinations and how to use transportation cards at major transit hubs for foreign visitors to Korea, such as airports and terminals, increased by 25% compared to the same period in 2023, showing that the travel patterns of foreign tourists are becoming more individualized and segmented.

In the shopping category, ‘refunds’ ranked first, with a 27.5% increase over the same period last year, suggesting the need to expand information provision on tax refunds and immediate refund tax-free services.

In the festival category, keywords related to festivals and performances held in various regions, such as Daegu and Andong, in addition to major regions such as Seoul and Busan, were also included in the rankings.

The most frequently consulted language was English (27%), followed by Chinese (24%), Korean (22%), Japanese (10%), and Russian (2%).

In addition, the construction company analyzed 1330 data on a monthly basis and published a report titled ‘Monthly Tourism Bot’ (VOT, Voice of Traveler), which contains changing tourist interests and travel trends.

The first trend keyword released after analyzing 15,000 data items received in July is ‘climate companion’ (card). The number of mentions of climate companion in July was 111, a 283% increase from June, and the proportion of foreign languages ​​reached 94.3%.
