Correct and appropriate management is an integral part of the success of the industry or the body it heads. Through this unique course, we intend to place the management of the institutional garden as a standard in all gardening tenders in the authorities and large institutions. Every development project in the field of gardening should be managed by a single authority that will concentrate the action in its various channels.

The management of the work in the ornamental garden brings together a lot of knowledge and high requirements in its field. Also, it is necessary to work with many entities, such as the variety of professionals involved in the project and its maintenance, and even the general public.

Graduates of the course “Work Manager in the Ornamental Garden” will be able to implement all aspects related to the planning and execution of the project or the ornamental garden as part of their training.

The main subjects of study:

  • Labor laws, standards and laws in the field.
  • The gardening teams work with the community and the authorities.
  • Understanding landscape architecture plans, bills of quantities, topographic maps and measurements, specifications, tenders and contracts. Building work plans for the implementation and maintenance of the garden.
  • The principles of management in different approaches.
  • Vegetation management, high landscape maintenance, water and soil management, garden hazards and other elements.
  • The climate crisis and the contribution of the ornamental garden.

Threshold conditions:

  1. 12 years of study.
  2. Professional certificate: ornamental horticulture type 2 / landscape engineering / agronomy with specialization in gardening / landscape architecture / soil and water engineering.
  3. Proven work experience in gardening for at least the last four years. Admission Committee – It is the responsibility of the training institutions to conduct an admission and screening process for candidates, in accordance with the criteria and threshold conditions, including conducting entrance tests (theoretical + identification of plants + pruning young trees), a personal interview and coordination of expectations with the candidate, to ensure an optimal fit for the training.

Study hours are divided into 70% theoretical and 30% practical.
The course lasts about a year (frontal and zoom sessions), once a week from 09.00 to 15.00.
The face-to-face meetings will be held in the Agricultural Garden, Rishon Lezion, and will also include professional tours throughout the country.
Those who complete the course, who will pass the tests and attend the meetings, will receive a certificate of participation in the “Work Manager in the Ornamental Garden” course on behalf of the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Agriculture.
