Quito, A total of 141 certificates of Good Forestry Practices have been delivered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), through the Undersecretary of Forestry Production, to producers throughout the country.
These 141 certificates are added to the 274 that the MAG has delivered, in the provinces of Carchi, Cotopaxi, El Oro, Esmeraldas, Guayas, Loja, Los Ríos, Manabí, Morona Santiago, Napo, Orellana, Pastaza, Pichincha, Santo Domingo de the Tsáchilas, Sucumbíos and Zamora Chinchipe
In total, 169 natural persons have benefited, as well as two legal companies, which have proven to be properties that comply with the Good Forestry Practices standard.
This certificate leaves benefits to producers. Among them we can mention the generation of opportunities for specific markets and fair prices with participation in environmental and social responsibility initiatives, as well as regulatory legal compliance, integration and implementation of more sustainable practices, improving the image and reputation of the producer or company.
To obtain certificates of Good Forestry Practices, interested producers must submit the following requirements to the National Agricultural Authority: application form for proponents; self-assessment form with the respective supports for the applicable indicators; Forest Registration certificate.
