Stockholm Announces Formation of New Union Administration and District Organizations

On July 1, 2023, the city of Stockholm will witness the establishment of a new union administration, the preschool administration, and the formation of two new district organizations, Järva and Norra innerstaden.
The preschool administration, a new specialist administration, will assume responsibilities related to pre-school issues previously under the purview of the education administration. The preschool board was formally established on March 1, 2023. This new development aims to streamline and enhance the management of pre-school matters within Stockholm.
Additionally, the Järva district board and administration will be created by merging Spånga-Tensta and Rinkeby-Kista, while the Norra innerstaden district board and administration will be formed through the merger of Norrmalm and Östermalm. These district organizations will work towards fostering local development and addressing the specific needs of their respective areas.
To ensure effective governance, members and substitutes for the preschool committee and the two new district committees have been elected by the municipal council. These committees will play a vital role in decision-making and representing the interests of their constituents.
