The formation of the new government is still awaited. The Presidency of the Republic announced yesterday that Christian Ntsay will give Andry Rajoelina on Thursday January 11 the list of names of proposed ministers with a view to announcing, at the end of the week, the appointments of the new government.

The press release from the presidency this Wednesday morning specifies that “after a preliminary interview, the candidates for the post of ministers will be evaluated by recruitment experts through rigorous and objective trials and tests which will make it possible to define the capacities of the said candidates” . The consultations have already started a week ago for the preselected candidates.

This approach aims to professionalize the recruitment process of ministers and to underline the importance of their commitments to the general interest and a results-oriented culture, indicates the Presidency in its press release.

However, this recruitment process is not convincing. Some political observers denounce a political charade because no major upheaval is expected, the reappointment of Christian Ntsay having already set the tone. The announced opening will take place without opposition, at least if we are to believe the declaration of certain tenors of the Collective of candidates for the last presidential election.
