The lawyer of Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, former order assistant to Jair Bolsonaro (PL), affirmed that his client will confess to having negotiated jewelry in the United States by order of the former president.
“He confesses that he obviously bought the jewels by order of the president,” Cézar Bittencourt said of the items given by other governments to the then Brazilian head of state.
Cid’s decision was revealed to Veja magazine and confirmed to Sheet by the lawyer. The soldier has been detained since May on suspicion of tampering with covid vaccination cards, including Bolsonaro’s.
Also yesterday, the so-called “Vaza Jato hacker” testified against the ex-president in the Parliamentary Investigation Commission on January 8.
Before the legislators, the programmer Walter Delgatti Neto declared that the former president’s team planned to fake the invasion of an electronic ballot box days before last year’s elections. The hacker, arrested at the beginning of the month on charges of conspiring with federal deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) against magistrate Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court, affirmed without offering evidence that Bolsonaro asked him to admit having intervened in the conversations judge.
Bolsonaro referred to Delgatti’s version as “fantasy” and did not comment on the claims of Cid’s lawyer until the conclusion of this edition. He though he denies wrongdoing.
