Former AIC student debuts column on Female Protagonism in Audiovisual

Ex-aluna of Cinema da AIC, Mariana Youssef, highlights female protagonism in audiovisual in her new column on the portal Medium & Message. Delving deeper into the role of women, both in front of and behind the camera, the column addresses the female gaze, the challenges faced by directors and crucial topics such as harassment, racial representation, ageism, motherhood, among others.

In the film industry, Mariana plays the role of stage director in Saigon, having directed three episodes of the series Love3 for the Amazon platform. Furthermore, she took over the general direction of the series The Followers for Paramount+. In 2022, Mariana contributed The Teenage Kiss for HBO Max, where in addition to creating the series, he was responsible for directing the first episode, with the participation of former student Acting Technician for Cinema and TV, Guilherme Corrêa.

In the advertising field, as a director, Mariana works for national and international clients, such as Ford, J&J, Rolling Stones, Fiat, Sky, Natura, Samsung, Coca-Cola, among others. His talent and contribution to the industry have been recognized with significant awards, including the Silver Lion at festivals such as Cannes, New York Film Festival, Clio Awards and Ciclope. Furthermore, she plays the role of Brazilian ambassador for Free the Workan international initiative that seeks to promote gender equality in the audiovisual industry, being a judge at events such as D&A and Ciclope.
