Former Bolivian president sentenced to 10 years in prison Dynamics

Former Bolivian interim president Junain Anes has been sentenced by a Bolivian court to 10 years in prison for violating the La Paz constitution.

In Bolivia, a South American country, presidential elections took place in November. In this, Evo Morales was re-elected president. But protests erupted across the country against Ewo Morales, alleging vote-rigging. Morales was in crisis as the army joined the civilian struggle. Thus Evo Morales resigned.

Subsequently, a female MP who was a member of the Opposition in Parliament. Junain Annes declared himself interim president. But he did not announce when the general election would take place. Then, by court order, the presidential election took place in September. Former President Evo Morales’ party candidate Luis Arc won the presidency.

Meanwhile, former interim president Junain Anes was arrested earlier this year for plotting to overthrow the Ewo Morals regime with the military. In this case, the court heard the coup case against Anes and sentenced him to 5 years in prison for violating the country’s constitution. Anes will appeal against this, his lawyer said.
