Former head of the Milli Majlis (parliament) of Azerbaijan, Safa Mirzoyev, has died.

As reported by Day.Az, this was reported by his close circle.

According to information, he died after a long illness.

Let us note that Safa Mirzoev was born on May 12, 1952.

He graduated from the Law Faculty of the Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University) with honors. In 1978-1990, he worked as a teacher, head teacher, deputy dean, and associate professor at Baku State University. In 1990-1992, he was a member of the USSR Constitutional Control Committee. Since 1992, he worked in the Milli Majlis apparatus. He was the head of the legal support and control department, head of the secretariat, secretary general of the Secretariat of the Supreme Council, and head of the secretariat of the Milli Majlis. From February 6, 1997, he was the head of the Milli Majlis apparatus.

In 1995, he became a member of the commission that prepared the draft of the new Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan. On May 11, 2012, he was awarded the Shohrat Order for his effective work in the civil service of the Republic of Azerbaijan. On May 11, 2022, he was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, 2nd degree, for many years of effective work in the civil service of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
