Srinagar: Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad may become the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, said Amin Bhatt, former state president of the Youth Congress. Bhatt, who is also a former MLA, responded in this way after meeting with Nabi Ghulam. He said that they have discussed the way forward and that they are not BJP’s B team.

Ghulam Nabi Azad resigned from Congress on Friday. Ghulam Nabi left the party after strongly criticizing Rahul Gandhi. He cited the removal of experienced leaders and the influence of inexperienced companions as the reasons for leaving the party.

Ghulam Nabi is in the process of forming a new party based in Jammu and Kashmir. Ghulam Nabi Azad’s attempt is to rally disaffected Congress leaders in Kashmir to his party. Meanwhile, BJP is trying to bring him to the NDA. It was earlier reported that Ghulam Nabi Azad is trying to become the Chief Minister of Kashmir with NDA. Amin Bhatt’s response confirms this.

Meanwhile, the reaction that is coming out now proves that many of the senior leaders in the Congress are with Ghulam Nabi. Manish Tiwari demanded that there was no consensus effort in the party and the Congress leadership should introspect. He wrote to Sonia Gandhi two years ago that the future of the party was worrying and should be taken seriously. Congress lost all the assembly elections held after that. The country and the Congress think in two ways. He said that those who are not capable of facing a ward election are currently talking big about the party. Leaders like Anand Sharma and Shashi Tharoor had also made their displeasure public in recent days.
