Former American football ace Vontae Davis was found dead in his grandmother’s house in Florida, reports CCN, BTA reported.

The cause of death for 35-year-old Davis is still unclear.

Officers were called to the Southwest Ranches home by a home aide and found Davis dead. Preliminary information suggests the death was not violent. The investigation continues.

Davis, 35, has played 121 games in the NFL. Recorded 10 seasons in the National Football League, playing for the Miami Dolphins, Indiana Colts and Buffalo Bills.

In 2018, he signed a one-year, $5 million contract with Buffalo, but abruptly pulled out at halftime of the team’s second game. The decision shocked his teammates and the league.

“I felt something out of body, a spiritual moment… My intuition was telling me that football was not for me anymore,” he explained to CNN at the time.

“The beginning was difficult. My mother was a drug addict, my father an alcoholic. I witnessed my father being shot several times by his brother.

And when you get out of situations like that, it’s just still hard…” Vontay says.
