At first it was just a rumor, now Tucker Carlson himself confirmed that he will be conducting an interview with the Russian president.

He was once a presenter at the US broadcaster Fox News, but Tucker Carlson lost his job there last year. Now the talk show host, who is known for his right-wing views and the spread of conspiracy theories, is drawing attention again with a spectacular coup.

Carlson is currently in Moscow to conduct an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The moderator announced this on Tuesday (February 6th) on the online platform X. In a video, the 54-year-old said: “We are in Moscow this evening. We are here to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin.”

Carlson wanted to inform

He explained that it was his job to inform people. Most Americans are uninformed because no one tells them the truth and the media is corrupt.

Rumors had previously been circulating about a possible Putin interview; on Monday (February 5th), Russian media had distributed pictures of Tucker Carlson strolling through Moscow.

No specific reasons were given for his firing from Fox News. Carlson had hosted a high-ratings evening show at the news station for years. He used this to spread conspiracy theories and false reports and to agitate against minorities. Shortly afterwards he started his own show on X.

Since then, Carlson has regularly published interviews with controversial personalities on X. Among others, he spoke to former US President Donald Trump and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.
