Former ICICI Bank CEO Chanda Kochhar and her husband Deepak Kochhar have been arrested by the CBI in the Videocon loan fraud case.
ICICI During Chanda Kochhar’s tenure as CEO of the bank, 1,875 crore loans were given to the Videocon Group. Complaints were raised that there were violations and the bank suffered a loss of 1,730 crores due to defaulting on the loan. The committee of former Supreme Court judge Srikrishna submitted a report stating that it is true that Chanda Kochhar has violated the bank regulations and he has acted against the financial interest of the bank. Videocon managing director Venugopal Chanda Kochhar’s husband Deepak Kochhar has also revealed that he has invested up to Rs 67 crore in the company. After the investigation by the Enforcement Division, the CBI, which conducted the investigation, registered a case against the three. Now CBI has arrested Chanda Kochhar and her husband Deepak Kochhar in this case.
