Baghdad – WAA

Former Kuwait national team goalkeeper Abdul Redha Abbas nominated our national team to qualify for the World Cup finals, based on the level of its players and their technical capabilities, as well as the unparalleled government support, compared to the rest of the teams in its group, especially the Arab ones.

Abbas said in an intervention in the program (Sport Today) broadcast on the Iraqi News Channel and followed by the (INA): “The Iraqi national team has the highest position in its second group due to the technical elements it possesses and the great capabilities of a large number of its players, which puts it in an advanced category with the South Korean team, whose chances will be great in reaching the World Cup finals from the second group.”

Abbas gave our team a perfect score in the qualification process, compared to the teams in his group of Arab teams.

The former goalkeeper of the Kuwaiti Blues criticized the decline in his team’s performance in recent years, which has become an easy target for many of the participating teams, pointing out that “his country’s team has no chance of qualifying from the group, and its previous history as a champion of the Gulf Cup does not intercede for it today to stand as a strong competitor against the fierce teams.”
